Beyond War in the Pandemic

Beyond War's projects continue to flourish in the Pandemic. 

Wage Peace has been able to grow our work online supporting our West Papuan partner Make West Papua Safe with a series of webinars exploring the situation in West Papua.

We were also wanting to link West Papuan people involved with civil resistance and localised politics and human rights directly with people on the ground in Australia. Direct relationships people to people diplomacy is a strong way to build solidarity campaigns. 

 

 

We have ceased our fundraising work at market stalls because the markets have been closed for the pandemic. We'll be picking that up again in 2023. 

We are looking for partner project that is involved in civil liberties and peace education. Already our friends and colleagues have delivered workshops themselves for our close friends in the climate movement. Watch this space.

Acknowledgement of Sovereignty and Traditional Authority

We acknowledge the Yidindji people who have cared for the land in the area of the Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef near Cairns; and that their land was never ceded. We acknowledge the Traditional Authority in the places we organise from, for example, of the Gimuy Walubara Yidindji, the Ngambri in Canberra, the Eora in Sydney and the Wurundjeri in Narrm. We recognise and honour them, their elders, the ancestors, the emerging leaders. And we thank them for looking after the beautiful country that is the Land that sustains us.
